To sell real estate in Minnesota, a person must have a license from the Minnesota Department of Commerce. In general, this includes anyone wanting to sell real estate or a business for someone else for compensation. Before obtaining a license, a person is required to attend 90 hours of approved real estate education, pass an exam, and apply for a license with a broker to the Department of Commerce. Five Percent Sponsoring Residuals When a salesperson is introduced to management and recruited into Progressive Real Estate Services, each transaction that they close generates a bonus that is equivalent to 5 percent of the gross commissions earned by the recruit, payable to the individual who sponsored them into the company.This bonus is paid out of the percentage that the company retains, so the agent actually can make more than 100 percent, so to speak, with a little effort in sponsoring.
